I have had A. caroliniana a few times from seed exchanges and every
time it has turned out to be A. multifida.
Anemone caroliniana should grow to about 20-30 cms and have whitish
flowers with 10-20 sepals unlike the usually yellowish flowers of A.
multifida which normally have about 8 sepals in the forms I've come across.
Both species have woolly seeds. Anemone multifida germinates quite
quickly and easily in warmish temperatures without stratification and
I would guess, but I'm not sure, that A. caroliniana probably does
the same. I'm still hoping to find the real thing!
