Most Liatris do not like overly moist soils, The ASCLEPIAS will germinate best
if the seed was dried well. Place the seed in hot water and allow it to soak
for 12 hours.
Germination is not uniform in time.
Butterfly weed will grow in dry soils to moist soils, but when you transplant
out be careful to not break the root.
Once established in moist soils it can be a hard plant to kill. I had one nice
large clump that I had chopped out three times but it still kept coming back
from the roots.
