I saved some seed from a durian and got several to sprout and grow a
few leaves. But they are true tropicals, and won't survive when it
gets chilly, even if it doesn't freeze. This I discovered when I left
them outside during the autumn here in southern California, and one
by one they stopped growing and eventually died.
I had some thought of trying to keep them growing in my greenhouse.
But the ones I saw in Sri Lanka were probably 80-100 feet tall, and
that's too big for my conditions.
