I think I said that it is the next easiest. I don't know about most common.
But about division: Division is simply where a large plant is taken apart
into smaller pieces, and these pieces replanted individually. It is a
suitable method of reproduction for a large number of common garden plants.
In addition, with many of the really vigorous plants, such as the border
Veronica species (Speedwell?) or Leucanthemum x cultorum (Shasta Daisy's new
fangled name), it is a necessity as the plants get overcrowded, and need to
be divided to encourage new growth. Plants of this type will wither and die
if not divided occasionally.

The plants are simply removed from the ground and pulled or cut apart. The
oldest, woody growth is discarded, as it will never grow well again, and the
newer growth divided into little clumps and replanted. You can make the
pieces as small as you like, depending on the plant material.

The seed germination articles (Prop series parts 3, 4, & 5) are on-line at
Tom Clothier's garden site at this address:
http://members.gnn.com/manytimes/page38.htm Parts 1-5 are on-line at
http://www.IcanGarden.com - you must go to the area marked special interest,
and then click on on-line courses. I do not know yet whether or not part 6,
or future lectures will be published on the web. I have added your name to
my mailing list so that you will receive future lectures automatically as
they are written.

I wouldn't mind posting them here, but I don't want to fill anyone's mail
boxes with unwanted information, so I'll just say that if you can't access
the on-line ones, or want to recieve them as they are produced, you may
e-mail me privately and I will send them on to you.

And thanks for the compliment!

Grow Well! Amber
