Martha inquired as to the propagation of Hibiscus moscheutos, the
Rose-Mallow.
Fresh seed works best. Dry stored seed will germinate better if kept cold
during storage.
Sow at 70-80F (21-27C) Sow as you would any typical perennial or annual.
No mention in the literature regarding requirement for dark or light for
germination to occur, therefore I usually cover lightly to keep seed moist
or else cover seed flat with plastic to keep humidity up. Usually started
in Jan-Feb for earliest bloom outdoors the first year.
