I grew some Schizostylus coccinea from Cottage Garden Society seed 4 years
ago and have good -sized clumps of them in shades of red and pink, though no
white. They are not monocarpic but they are from RSA and said to be slightly
tender, so perhaps this person's plants just died of cold.Mine survive -7c
with no difficulty.I have heard from someone with the plant that the white
form does not thrive and increase as well as the others, however.
On S.pallidiflora....this could be wrongly named. The Plantfinder doesn't
list any plant by this name but does give S.coccinea 'Pallida', which I
imagine will perform much the same as the other varieties of S.coccinea.
