Use of auxins (plant rooting hormoens) during grafting

========================================================

Introduction:
The plant growth regulator rooting hormones (auxines) havewide use for the
propagation of cuttings (asexual propagation) usually for adventitious root
formation. They are also used to develop roots when propagation by air
layering.

Abtract:
There has been quite a bit of interest (especially among pomologists, those
researchers who propagate fruit trees by grafting) to use IBA (liquid or dry
powder) applied at the graft site to improve graft takes. For reference see
Dr. Cummins article in the NAFEX Pomona (Summer 1996) which is reprinted at:
http://www.rooting-hormones.com/cummins.htm
Question:
Have any members of this group tried this technique?

This is a very exciting technique especially for difficult to take unions.
