A summary of the Time article is in today's edition of Plant Breeding News,
a service of the UN's Food and Agricultural Organization.
Almost daily, PBN publishes torrents of "the latest" about plant breeding
and biotechnology. Both scientific breakthroughs and the economic moves of
multinational drug and agribusiness megalopolies are covered. Each item is
short but there are dozens of them. This is the kind of information citizens
need; but it can be bewildering and it is almost
always dismaying. Reading it, I often feel like a splinter in a whirlpool.
Have to run with my dogs in the unpatented mountain air, keep propagating
plants from wild seed.
