Why buy plants when you can grow them yourself.....?

I have taken slips from two of my clematis, used rooting hormone, and
placed them in individual plastic "terrariums" - I take a 2 litre pop
bottle, cut it in half horizontally about 1/3 down from the top, place a
soilless mix in the bottom and pop in the cutting. Then I cut a slit in
the top half of the bottle so that I can squeeze it a bit smaller, then
slide it down inside the top half. Leave the lid off the bottle to
provide some air circulation. I have successfully used this terrarium
idea for rooting boxwood and euonymus (sp?).

I have a question for the group: what is the best way to tag plants
that you want to collect seeds from? I have a stand of mixed poppies -
many different kinds. I only need the seeds from one or two kinds, and
want to mark them so that I know which they are. Last year, I tied a
string around each individual plant, but the string slid down and I
ended up deadheading some of the ones I wanted (sob!) Any great ideas?
