Duncan,
Out of curiosity, where did the instructions for sowing the hardy perennial
types come from? Seems they are quite different than the ones I followed
when I grew E. characias from seed - much simpler. Have you followed them
and, if so, does it work?
I realize they can be divided - never tried it as I have either bought
plants, grown them from seed or moved self-sown seedlings. What's the
best time to divide? I find that E. characias seems to resent root
disturbance fairly fiercely - can they, too, be divided?
