Dawn, I have never heard it called anything but the botanical name, but it
always makes me think of a "wolf" or the "hounds of the Baskervilles" :).
Some of the other Euphorbias do have common names such as "Cushion Spurge",
"Crown of Thorns" and "Mexican Fire Bush".
