I usually don't have a problem getting them to sprout, they do so pretty
easily. Maybe you are planting them too deep, or not keeping the soil moist
enough. I do know that they love sunshine, and simply refuse to grow in the
shade. Make sure that the soil is draining good, and not too dry. Mine have
reseeded themselves, usually in the most inconvenient places....
