I grow a native 4-o'clock here in zone 5a and they come back every
year.
I Germinate them between 2 paper towels-then plant outside. They
start
coming up in their native environment here early to mid May. They do
indeed self sow readily but the ones I grow are strong perennials
with a
bush habit and hot purple flowers.
