Re: 4-o'clocks

Hello all,

Here in South Central Texas, Zone 8/9, 4 o'clocks grow like crazy. I
planted a few seeds of mixed colors years ago and they've grown into a
formidable patch. I always have to pull seedlings out in the Spring because
they grow everywhere. They grow on the west side of my house partly shaded
by an old oak tree. I rarely water them even this year in the extreme
drought we're experiencing. They just grow and grow. They don't do well in
full sun here, but seem to like the filtered sun. They produce lots of seed
which I've given away and swapped.

While I'm thinking about it: it would be really helpful when posting a
query to let us know your gardening zone, or at least where you live. Many
plants need different conditions in different climates. For instance, I
just read a post about 4 o'clocks that said they grow best in full
sun.....well, not where I live. So, see how this information is most
helpful?

Cindy in TX
