Renee:Pink Peppercorns are the seeds of Schinus terebinthifolius
(Brazilian Pepper Tree).  Some people are allergic to them, but they are
not poisonious per se.  S. molle (California Pepper Tree) was brought to
California by the Spanish settlers and Padres to use as a substitute for
pepper.  They thrived.  IMHO, they are one of the messiest trees, but
one of the most beautiful.
