G'day, ya'll --
I tried starting some Perennial Seeds this spring & didn't have much luck.
I eagerly read all the posts this spring but I still have questions.
Someone mentioned starting the seeds on a towel & others mentioned taking a
very long time for them to germinate. & others mentioned putting them in the
frig/freezer for a couple months first.
I have a new supply of seeds & am hoping some of you can give me some tips or
suggestions where to get more specific info.
Allwood Pink
Catnip
Delphinum
Liatris
Yellow Loosestrife
I am wanting to start them inside & then plant them outside Sept. 1.
Recently there's been some talk about putting them outside in a shady spot.
Is it really worth growing your own when you have to use flourescent lights
for a long period of time?? Seems like the expense would offset the savings.
Do most of you do it for mass plantings or to get unusual varieties or are you
just compulsive like I am??
One more question --
I picked up a pkg of Moss Verbena (Verbena tenuisecta) - Is it really NOT
hardy in zone 5??? Love Verbena but haven't had any luck yet getting one to
survive the winter.
Once again, thanx for your help!!!
