Germinating soybeans

Hello all, hope your summers are going well. Here in Southeast Alaska it has
actually climbed up into the 80's (that doesn't happen very often)! 
So here's my question, I've been trying to start several soybeans (green pod
type) to see how they will grow here. They've been started at about 70 degree
temps and kept very moist (started inside 3-4 weeks ago). This is my second
attempt. 
Is there some secret to soybeans?? The package (from a reputable company that
usually has good instructions) did not mention any special needs. 
Any ideas, friends? :-)
