Re: The Philadelphia Flower Show
I think it is rather nice that you enjoyed the Philadelphia Flower Show. I
went two different days, one to visit and the next to work. If I hadn't
been scheduled to work, I would NOT have gone back. The millennium theme
sure brought the whacko designers out in full force. Huge stainless steel
planters, plastic bottles serenading as flowers, the most bizarre
arrangements I have ever seen, etc. Seemed more like "Gardens on Mars" than
flowers for the new millennium.
Upon closer scrunity, you could find some good old-fashioned exhibitors. As
usual the pressed flowers and the miniatures were pretty amazing. Some of
the judged classes were superb, too. However, I felt the overall feeling of
the show left a LOT to be desired.
Waiting patiently for our local, The Chester County Flower Show. It was
wonderful last year and I suspect that it will be better this year.
