Hi Kate,
When I lived in Kansas, I just planted them in the ground and they grew
like gangbusters, and then reseeded themselves and came up each year. I
live in Virginia now and haven't tried them yet, but plan on it this
year. I don't think it's the heat because Kansas was always blistering
hot in the summer. Perhaps you should just sow them directly in the
garden and see what happens. ;o)
