Can anyone tell me their experiences with tree peonies. Can
they be rooted from cuttings?
The peony is a bit difficult to propagate from cuttings.
Take cuttings from the current seasons growth from the base of the plant.
6-8 inches long with a few leaf.
If the cuttings are somewhat green do not wound the basal end.
Use a high concentration of dry powder rooting hormones such as Rhizopon AA
#3 used by the dry dip method. Cover the cuttings just as you would with
roses.
take a look at http://www.rooting-hormones.com/takecut.htm
and http://www.rooting-hormones.com/rose.htm
and for ideas.
