here is an old posting for ginkgo


Per Wyman's:

Ginko biloba (maidenhair tree)

Only male trees should be planted, and these must be asexually
propogated
for it takes 20 years or more for seedlings to produce their first
flower.

Do not allow the seeds to dry out before they are sown.  Varieties are
grafted or budded on the species.  Many clones have been easily rooted
from
softwood cuttings, but some have been reported as difficult.
