I use a medium of equal parts peat, vermiculite, perlite. It's very light
and drains well.

I use a cocktail or shrimp fork. It's very small and easy to use.

I put seedlings in my unheated greenhouse. It's cool at night, warm during
the day this time of year. If the seedlings like really cool weather, I put
them on my porch. If I didn't have the greenhouse, I'd put them, unheated,
under lights close enough so they don't stretch.
