Thanks for your excellent explanation of the culture necessary for
starting hosta from seed. I'm going to try it. I have saved seed and
purchased seed. I had been hoping the leaf thing would work as I am
longing for the hosta in front of an office building nearby. I wouldn't
presume to take a piece of their root, but I would have snatched a leaf.
Unfortunately the occupants are not gardeners and don't know that it is
even a hosta much less which kind.
