successful). I have terrible luck with clay pots for rooting cuttings.
When the plant has started rooting and my plastic cover is removed, I
seldom water often enough
to keep the soil moist. Often the soil changes from being noticably wet
(by appearance and toutch) to dry in an hour or less. The plant immediatly
dies. I have never had this problem with plastic pots or flats.
My feeling are that perhaps his pots are not sterile and pathogens are
coming out while the pots are moist. The plastic pots are easier to clean.
He might also be hardening off the cuttings too soon so that the moisture
is more critical.
