May be a function of location, but I seem to have best luck rooting P.
Castle right about now, just as it's seriously thinking spring is coming,
but before leaves have put on growth. Also have better luck with this
plant, as well as the gray leaf salvias and other gray or fuzzy leafed
plants by rooting in pure coarse builders sand in a clay pot sitting in a
container which continuously has about an inch or so of water in it -- no
covering. This way they have humidity and moisture but air circulation.
Sometimes I get near 100% rooting and have quite an
overabundance....sometimes not with same conditions..go figure. Have done
it both with and without rooting hormone. Pots of cuttings kept at room
temp under fluorescent light.
