I've started belacanda from seed. In fact have some on the go right now.
Started them in Feb, they grew like topsy. started looking like iris
fans. Planted them out and they bloomed the first summer. They
survived 3 or 4 yers in a zone 4b without any extra mulching. By the end
of 4 years was down to about 20% or original plants but that was OK by
me, only wanted hardy things anyway.
