Re: Any experience with GA3?

Hey all,

<<I couldn't come by any, and a botanist from the Royal BC Museum
suggested taking a handful of leaves, last year's, from the untidier
parts of the farden, shredding them in the blender with a bit of water
and using them in the seeding medium. It worked, too!>>

JL Hudson sells GA-3 for $16/gram of so, I've seen GA (without a
specific giberellic acid mentioned) elsewhere for as low as $8/ gram,
but with a minimum total order of $30.

I've got a little and I've only ever tried it on Trichocereus
terschekii. I saw moderately faster germination, slighty higher
germination, and slightly faster growth, but if I hadn't had a treated
and untreated pot side by side, I would never have noticed the very
slight difference. Then again, Trichocereus as a genus is not
suppossedly that difficult to start anyway.

As I get around to trying other species, I'll give a report on it, if
anyone is interested.

Thanks for flying,
Glider, zone 5
