I realize you are in Texas, but do you get the Canadian gardening magazine
called Gardens West? The April one has a grand article on Salvias. It
discusses all aspects, with separate comments on annuals and perennials.
It does not discuss the ones you've mentioned (there are over 900 species).
It gives good 'further reading' sources.
If you'd like to provide a fax number or address, I'd be happy to get this
to you, or anyone else who is interested.
