The offshoot that is on your den is called a kiki - let the roots form a nice
clump and them take a sterile knife and remove the kiki from the mother
plant. It's always a good idea to soak your newly cut kiki in a water
soluble rooting hormone to promote root growth and water with a diluted
mixture of fertilizer every few waterings.
You can either let the wound on the mother plant air dry or you can apply a
powder fungicide. I use cinnamon on the wound.
