Re: ribes

I find that spring works best for me, But I usually just shove them in the ground somewhere moist. I have done mostly currents, and have been very happy with the pink champagne currents have the best flavor.

"Pixwell" has done ok for me, but I am thinking I need to move them to a better site, I think they are competing too much with some maple roots. I have started cutting of the Gooseberries, they do not do as well as currents but I usually only loose a few of them. I have also started them in a pot on the patio, where they wintered over for me outside. Tend to have a large plastic pot that held a shrub or tree that holds plants I am not sure where they need to go, and the cuttings just get shoved in around things. The cutting tend to happen when I need to cut something back, or shape something up. But depending I bet now is not a bad time ether. As long as they do not dry out. Depends on where you can keep them.
