When planting cycad seed only half of seed is buried. Lay seed on side and press into a very well draining mix with top half of seed exposed. Do not enclose container since this will induce rot. A one gallon deep container is best. Shallow container does not allow proper development of root. Can take as long as two years to germinate but most within six months if kept warm.
