Re: Clematis tangutica from seed

Lady Scott aka Valerie Finnis, (Northamptonshire, UK) gave us some seeds
from the John (?) McKenzie yellow clematis tang. This variety sported at
Dower House where she lives and she named it after McKenzie. She told us to
plant them in the fall by sprinkling them on the top of the soil, then
covering that with a thin layer of gravel, and leave them outdoors all
winter. We did that and it worked. Good luck .
