I have had mixed results with Amaryllis.I have found immmediate sowing
is best. There seem to be problems pollinating Amaryllis. Some crosses
do not take at all,others result in few fat seeds(many are nothing but
paparey husks).Even then, the germination is sometimes poor or non
existant. Perhaps my timing with the pollen is off. Storing of pollen is
necessary due to differing bloomtime.Maybe the pollen is defective after
storage. At any rate,from personal observation I would say the seed does
not store well either.
