Its the long Summer days in Alaska. Or in the far north (according to my
information)

 As for D.x Burkwoodii (assumming you are talking about Carol Macki)
just let it grow naturally, MAKE sure you DO NOT over water ANY Daphne.
High Phosphate, Low Nitrogen fert.
