Hi Nan! I store everything in the refrigerator except seeds of the annual
globe Amaranth. They die in cold temps. There are probably other tropical
seeds that wouldn't take it as well. Your Salvia, Penstemon, etc. will last
much longer if stored in the fridge.
Seeds of ephemeral flowers should either be sown immediately or stored in
the refrigerator in a moist state, such as in a ziploc back full of
moistened spaghnum or peat. This includes many spring bulbs. Most of the
summer blooming bulbs don't need damp storage though.
I know of no database on the subject.
