Kirstenbosh Botanic garden has developed absorbent paper discs that are
impregnated with smoke-saturated water, these are dried and sealed in
polythene baggies which can be stored for at least 6 months in the fridge.
As well as the smoke they also add other natural germination stimulators to
overcome other forms of dormancy.
When you want to use the smoke you just put a disc in some water and soak
the seeds for 24 hours.
5 discs cost US$10 including postage.
Smoke Primer can be purchased in the USA - I'll try to find out where from.
Best wishes,
Matt Sleigh
