Re: [Fwd: Indigofera]

Dear Lisa,

I grow a number of Indigofera plants in my garden. Mine all come from the
western slopes of the Himalaya and have been wild collected, mainly by
Chris Chadwell. They are all fairly similar, open, airy shrubs, up to 2
metres tall, with pinnate leaves, sprays of pink flowers. Sometimes they
can be cut to the ground in a particularly cold winter, but the regrow
quickly. They do not need an acid soil. They appear to by self fertile.

I plant seed on top of a soil based compost and cover with 1/4 inch of
sharp grit. Sown early in the year with a little heat they seem to
germinate in a few weeks with little trouble.

Hope that helps.
