I have successfully sprouted date-palm seeds using the zip-loc bag method. Now I
need advice on potting them up.
I know the mature palms have invasive roots - that's how they survive in dry
climates. Each sprouted seed now looks like a corkscrew, with a coiled taproot
springing out of its middle. How deeply do the roots go? I am worried that a
small pot may be inadequate. do they need deep soil immediately? If I put
several seedlings in one larger pot to give the roots deep soil, will I be able
to separate the seedlings later?
Thanks for your help.
