You want to use the dome to germinate the seed, once the seeds have
germinated but before leaves are formed you should remove the domes.
What happens if you leave the domes on after the seedlings have leaves is
that the leaves are acclimated to the high humidity averment and do not form
stomas that function properly.
Now the seedlings need to be hardened off slowly and you loss a lot of plants
during this process.
I find what works the best is to start the seeds under the dome and once you
begin to see the radicals (the first root out of the seed) remove the dome
and lightly cover them with some medium. You want the medium to be moist but
not wet. A good quality seed starting mix goes a long way in producing good
plants.
On most plants I try to stay away from the humidly domes, but some plants you
need them to get good uniform results.
