Darin,
I happen to love those APS units, mainly because of the fact they don't have
to be watered every day. The seed-starting mix stays evenly moist, but that
can be a drawback (some seeds tend to rot if they don't dry out a little
between waterings). Instead of buying APS units from Gardener's Supply Co.
(I bet that's where you saw them), I buy a cheaper clone at the local
K-Mart. Original price on them was $7.99, but at the end of this season,
they were on sale for $2.99.
