List Members, Sorry for the late reply, get the list in digest form and
have been out of town for the weekend. Decomposing compost produces
carbon dioxide. You could put a bit around the base of all your larger
plants, but you may end up with lots of gnats and flys. You could put
some in containers or bins in the greenhouse and cover it with mosquito
netting to keep the bugs under control. If you get it too moist you will
get nasty odors. Too dry and decomposition and thus carbon dioxide
production would cease. Something to think about anyway. I haven't tried
it. Mention of it in Shane Smith's book "Greenhouse Gardener's
Companion" a very good introduction to greenhouse horticulture.
