An organic gardener (Russ Wold) in Pleasant Hill uses his compost as a
source of heat for his greenhouse. He places ducts (pipes with holes) in
the compost pile, with a slight incline into the greenhouse. The moist
heat rises through the ducting to the greenhouse, carrying CO2 from
decomposition with it. So, he gets heat, CO2, and "black gold" soil from
