Lara,
I hope this may help you. The seeds need to go thru a period of cold.
Sow them outside in late fall for germination in spring, or, you could
place them in a moistened paper towel and put this in your freezer for 3
weeks. Then germinate them in a medium that is kept around 80-85 degrees.
Germination is slow. It may take several months. Another reference source
suggests that the stratification period is 2-6 months. my experience has
been that the longer the cold treatment, the more success I have had.
If you are interested in cuttings, cut a short stem leaving 2 node sections
above the cut. Take the cuttings when the tight flower buds are developing.
Treat the cutting with a root stimulating hormone and place it in the soil
up to the lowest cut. The rooting medium should be well-drained. Rooting
should occur in 4-5 weeks. Take several cuttings as the percentage of
rooting is about 60-70%.
