Cleaning Tomato Seed, (was Re: Catalpa Seed)

Jean,

The accepted way to clean and prepare tomato seeds is to soak them for a
few days, changing the water daily. You can stir up the seeds with your
finger, or something, to help work the pulp off the seeds. The viable seed
will sink to the bottom of the water, too, so when you pour off the water
each day with the pulp, try to keep the seeds in. Any floaters, you can let
go......they're no good anyway. After the seeds are clean, spread them on a
plate or something until they dry, store them in a cool, dry place until
you're ready to plant some.
