Biodynamic compost is compost made in a large pile (4-5 wide x 4-5
high) with alternating brown and green layers and after it is assembled, the
biodynamic preparations are inserted into the pile, and it's covered with
some sort of air permeable substance such as straw, mulch, etc. The
biodynamic preparations each have their own special properties and are made
with common herbs such as yarrow, dandelion, valerian, stinging nettle, and
oak bark.

Farm" by Hugh Lovel, and "Agriculture" by Rudolph Steiner, or check out the

I just try to keep to grab the straw only and not the smaller chunks
which might decompose when wet.
Hope that helps.
