Cypress Vine (Ipomoea quamoclit)

I have a friend with several large beautiful Cypress Vines or Cardinal
Climbers. When is the beat time to collect seed from the plant? Should
I wait until the seed pods (or what ever you want to call them) are
totally dry or what? Is this one of those few varieties that requires
the seeds to be refrigerated or frozen for any period of time?

Next Spring how should I go about planting the seeds. Do they need to be
treated any special way to germinate?

Any other information regarding Cypress Vine would also be greatly
appreciated. Right now I don't know anything about it other than the
scientific name and the fact that I like how it looks in my friends yard.
Thanks in advance for all your help! :-)
