Re: Hello & question !

Other respondents addressed "how you planted".  I will discuss "what you planted".   Many stores that sell roses do not take care of them properly (in fact it is not uncommon to see stores selling roses that are actually dead!).  They may have had too much of the root system removed;  they may have received too little water or too much fertilizer.  Roses do not bounce back from poor care as well as some annuals do.

Subject: Hello & question !

Hi  -  I'm  new  to  the  list  and  find  it  very  interesting .
My  problem  is  I'm  trying  to  recreate  a  rose  garden  on  my  family  property.  It  has  been  very  neglected  and  only  two  remain .  I  added  several  new  varieties  this  year  only  to  have  2  of  the  12  survive  the  summer .  Is  there  a  special  way  to  go  about  this ?  Any  ideas  or  input  would  be  most  welcomed .
Thanks ,
Paula
