off
There are many ways to prevent damping-off in
seedlings and I and many of my American Rhododendron Society friends wouldn't
think of starting seeds without approximately 3/8" to 1/2" of either
milled sphagnum or long fiber sphagnum moss on top of the medium. The long fiber
sphagnum is the type sometimes used to line hanging baskets. Just about any
medium will do if you use the sphagnum as above. I am using this method for
rhodo. and azalea seed propagation as well as literally dozens of native plants
here in Western North Carolina. Nothing Can be as simple as this tried and true
method so put away all the sprays and special additives and make your
propagation as easy as possible. AzaleaEd
