Viola and Petunia seeds

Can someone clue me in on how to collect seeds from my violas and my
petunias? I really liked the ones I had this year and want to see if this
newbie gardener can propogate some more.....

You'll have to be specific, as I am completely dumb when it comes to
collecting almost all types of seed.
