Pomegranate and capers !

Does anyone have experience (or any ideas) for germinating Punica granatum
(Pomegranate) seeds ?

I have tried on several occasions (not very hard admittedly) but never had
any success.

I know that they are easy to propagate vegetatively, from suckers or
cuttings, but from seed ?

And how about capers (Capparis spinosa) seed, cuttings or layering ?
